dc.description.abstract Very little work has hitherto been done on the Elastic Properties of Single Crystals of Metals. In the case of Tungsten, which is the only cubic crystal whose elastic constants have been determined, the previous work of Bridgman based on static tests indicated that the constants satisfied the Isotropic relation. In the present investigation dynamical methods have been employed to redetermine these constants more accurately, and in particular to find out whether the crystals are truly isotropic. en_US
