dc.description.abstract This report describes experimental and theoretical investigations of the vibrations of rafwires during "singing." The experimental work was confined to the laboratory. Observations were made on a rafwire in a wind channel at various angles of yaw, at various wind speeds and under various tensions. Subsidiary aerodynamic and other measurements were also made. The principal reason for the experiment was the wish to find an explanation for fractures which have occurred from time to time. en_US
