dc.description.abstract The purpose of the work described in this report was to study the effect of longitudinal pressure gradients upon compressible turbulent boundary layers on a flat plate, with and without air injection. A brief survey of some of the more recent work on pressure gradient flows with and without injection is given. Emphasis is placed upon the effects of the pressure gradients on the velocity and temperature profiles although theoretically predicted developments are indicated on the figures. The use of the razor-blade technique for measuring skin-friction in pressure gradient flows is also shown to be very satisfactory. en_US
