dc.description.abstract A gust tunnel, which has been under development in the Aeronautical Department of Queen Mary College since 1965, is fully described. Extensive information on the hardware and apparatus associated with the tunnel is followed by an account of its steady and oscillatory flow characteristics. These latter are described for single frequencies as well as at combinations of two frequencies. The generation of non-periodic transient gusts is also reported together with brief reviews of past experimental research that has been conducted with the facility. en_US
