dc.description.abstract A theoretical investigation is made into the diffusion of symmetrical, concentrated loads into a long stiffened panel having constant stress edge members and a transverse loading beam. Both pin-jointed and clamped end conditions for the beam are considered. Curves are given for determining the peak shear stress near the boom, the variation of this shear stress along the length of the panel, the proportion of load transferred by the beam, and the bending moment at the ends of the beam. en_US
