dc.description.abstract This note gives the result of an attempt to find an analytical solution of Possio's integral equation - the equation which connects the downwash and the pressure distribution on an aerofoil oscillating in two-dimensional subsonic compressible flow. A method is given for solving this problem and for solving the corresponding problem in incompressible flow (the solution of Birnbaum's integral equation). en_US
