dc.description.abstract | Estimates of atmospheric turbulence from counting accelerometer records show a large scatter. The simple assumption of a random distribution of gusts is inconsistent with this scatter. A formula which takes account of the variations in gust density is given and the calculated sampling errors for 10 ft/sec gusts are found to be about four times those calculated on the basis of a random distribution. | en_US |
