dc.description.abstract Three different approximate methods of solving the three-dimensional laminar boundary-layer equations are tested on a problem whose exact solution is known. From the comparison one of the methods, which is developed in this paper, is recommended as the one to use in general, provided that the cross-flow in the boundary, layer is not large. The method is tested on two allied problems whose exact solution is known; fair agreement is obtained. Finally the three methods are used to find the angle between streamlines and limiting streamlines for the flow over a slender delta wing, and to determine the point of separation. en_US
