dc.description.abstract	An analysis is given of the deformation under normal loading of a plate tapered symmetrically in planform with edges either clamped or simply-supported. The thickness may be constant or may vary along the plate as a power of the width. Numerical results are given for plates of constant and linearly varying thickness under uniformly distributed load.	en_US
