dc.description The paper considers the case of a one-dimensional isentropic unsteady compressible flow that is driven entirely by a distribution of sources in the left-hand half space of an unbounded domain. The right-hand half-space contains no sources, so that source-strength drops discontinuously to zero as one crosses from left to right-hand space. Exact solutions are obtained for those parts of the flow that remain isentropic.
