Abstract:
A series of three thick uncambered slender wings and twelve flat-plate slender wings, all with sharp edges, have been tested in the 13 ft x 9 ft Low-Speed Wind Tunnel at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Bedford. Pressure plotting, balance measurements and flow-visualisation tests were made to investigate the effects of plan-form shape, thickness, and aspect ratio on their aerodynamic characteristics at low speeds.
