Abstract:
A 36 x 35 in. transonic working section with slotted walls on all four sides is described. It is interchangeable with the original supersonic working section of the 3-ft. tunnel, and is used for tests at Mach numbers up to 1.25. The performance of the working section is summarised, with particular attention to effects of varying the angles of inclination of the upper and lower walls to the tunnel axis.
